Sydney Dreadlock Specialist         — 15 Years, 400+ Heads

I'm Yogi, and I've been doing dreadlocks in Sydney since 2010.

Over 400 heads in that time — every hair type, every stage, from someone's very first set to locks I've been maintaining for a decade. I use the natural crochet method. No wax, no glue, no chemicals, no shortcuts.

I'm fully mobile. I come to you, anywhere in Sydney.

I come to you

Most of my work happens at kitchen tables, on balconies, and in living rooms across Sydney. You put something on, we talk, and a few hours later you've got dreads you're happy with.

There's no salon to travel to and no waiting room. I bring the full professional setup — every tool, every size hook, everything needed for the job.

$80 call-out within about thirty minutes of me, minimum two hours. Anything further and I'll quote you honestly before you commit to anything.

What I do

New dreadlocks — a full head from loose hair, any texture, any length that's long enough to hold. Usually five to seven hours.
Maintenance — root tightening and tidying to keep them looking sharp as they grow. Most people need this every six to ten weeks. Usually two to four hours.
Repairs and rescue — this is a big part of what I do now. Bad sectioning, breakage, thinning at the roots, locks joining together, or work someone else rushed. If yours have gone wrong, they're almost always fixable.
Extensions — added length and volume, attached properly so they hold.
Removal — taken out cleanly and carefully, without shaving your head. It takes time and patience, but it can be done.

Fixing other people's work

A lot of people come to me because their dreads didn't turn out how they were promised.
Sections that were never planned properly. Roots that were rushed. Locks that were too thick or too thin from the start. Work done by someone who didn't understand that particular hair type.
I'd rather tell you honestly what can and can't be fixed than take your money and hope. Send me a photo and I'll give you a straight answer, even if that answer is that you're better off leaving them alone for a few months.

How it works

Send me a photo of the top and back of your head. That's it — no forms, no consultation fee.

I'll tell you what your hair actually needs, roughly how many hours it'll take, and what that costs. Then we find a day that works and I come to you.

$110 an hour, minimum two hours. Return clients pay $95. I'll always give you an estimated time along with the price, so you know what you're committing to before I arrive rather than watching a meter run.

Where I've worked

I've dreaded hair at BOOM Festival in Portugal, OZORA in Hungary, and Rainbow Serpent here in Australia. I've worked on people from just about everywhere, on every hair type there is.

But most of my work is much quieter than that — regular clients around Sydney I've been looking after for years, some of them since 2013.
